I got a chance at a do over with an identical FJ to the first one I bought myself for my birthday new in 2011. This truck is like new and even smells new. It had 2,565 miles on it when I bought it. The guy bought it and kept it covered in the garage. He'd drive it once or twice a month to go check the mail.
I am going to try to keep it nice and barely drive it. I did install a 2020 4runner trd pro fox suspension in it and a set of trd pro wheels. Also put some new tires on it to replace the twelve year old original tires. Anything I change I plan on only upgrading with oem options from the newer trucks. I could probably flip this and make a good chunk of profit over the ridiculously high price I paid. The guy could have got way more out of it if he would have offered it to the nation, but he for some reason decided he was only going to sell it local and I was the first serious offer locally so he sold it to me. He said every Toyota dealership in the valley contacted him but he wouldn't sell it to them.
I messed up and got rid of my first, second, and third FJ when they were still new and readily available. FJs in this shape are few and far between. I love my new 12 year old FJ. No plans to let this one slip away.

Congrats! Very cool! It would be a shame to drive it much now with such low miles. That would be difficult for me!

Very nice! Did you keep the original wheels?

Yes I kept and boxed up everything I have swapped out. I didn't like the trd pro wheels so I got these. I also bought the oem trail teams black out parts.

Jake, where did you find those wheels? I’d love to find three for our Turtleback.

They’re almost as much of a unicorn as the truck…

Looks good!!

Hey Mark these are the knock offs of the factory toyota trd wheels. FN Wheels makes them. They are called FN Wheels Overlander Spec B. They are 17x8.5 with a -6mm offset. The trd ones were 16x7.5 with a +10mm offset iirc. You can get grey, black, or gold. Google that name and you'll see different threads on multiple toyota forums about them. The factory toyota trd caps fit these wheels but they are rare as well. If you want to order these you need to either call or text Dustin who owns FNWheels. He is a really cool dude. Top notch customer service from this dude as well. If you do reach out to him tell him I sent you. Mention my low mile FJ. He'll know who you're talking about. His number is 714 390 9387.

You're right. Those toyota trd fake beadlocks are discontinued and people are effin nuts on how much they want for them. I have seen people on ebay asking 3-4 grand for them used. I saw 1 new set someone was asking 5k for. I wish I had known I would have bought a truckload when they were 165 a piece new at toyota.

The wheels come with painted to match blank caps or you can get the aluminum ones but they have FNW embossed on them. He used to sell the factory trd caps but they do not make those anymore. I stripped the clear and painted letters from my caps and used some mothers polish to shine them back up. I am on the look out for four trd caps.

Hey Mark, looks like toyota is making the 16 inch trd fake beadlock wheels again in all 3 colors. Here are the part numbers. There are toyota dealers with them listed on ebay. They are a little expensive right now but I bet as soon as the newness wears off and there are a bunch sitting on shelves, prices will come down.

PTR56-35220-F3 for grey
PTR56-35220-F2 for black
PTR56-35220-F5 for bronze

PT280-35220-G0 for Center Caps.
