It was a sunny day, pulling out of In-n-Out Urge with my cheeseburger when...
Woop, woop, blue and red lights all around my FJ.
After deciding running was not an option, we pull over.

Cop (barely see over my drivers window, but good looking fellow, not unlike in Terminator.) says:
Do you know why Im stopping you?

Me: No.
Cop: Your tags are expired.
Me: CRAP!. Its not registered, I forgot.
Cop: Whats that?
M: A flashlight.
C: Whats that?
M: Another flashlight.
C: Whats that?
M: A flashlight that looks like a little alligator. (demonstrated the glowing eyes)
C: Whats a "Looowwwwaa...."
M: a Lowrance GPS for offroading.
C: Wait here.

Hours, then days pass.

Cop: Here's your license and registration......thanks for being honest.

Short pause....and a slightly deeper tone....
Cop: Would you drive a Prius?
Me: NO!
C: Are you sure you wouldn't drive a Prius?
M: No, I don't think so.

And an even deeper tone....
Cop: You do know Im kidding.....You don't look like a Prius kind of guy.
Have a nice day.

Gotta admit, my 2015 tag is still in my glovebox and I recently put the 2016 tag on the plate. Forgot to put it on for a full year. The fees were paid, that's what's important. Smile

My girl gets so mad at me 'cause I'm horrible at putting the new sticker on... Well, I am usually a month late paying too, but it's like 5 bucks late fee so who cares. Well, my girl cares and gets mad at me.

^^^this
AZ is by far the best / easiest state to renew the all things vehicle related.
Texas was a joke, Missouri was just painful, Nebraska was only in person.

In PA you had to have a state inspection to get your tags. Not allowed to have any tire sticking out of the fenders either.

Isn't it that way here ^^^? I thought you had to go get your vehicle inspected prior to renewing tags? I know when we moved here and swapped plates from MA to AZ we had to get it inspected before they would register it.

A level 1 inspection is required when registering a vehicle from out of state. All they really do is check the VIN. No inspection needed when renewing tags, only emissions every two years if the vehicle is old enough, and that's only a Phoenix and Tucson thing.
