November 2007 seems so long ago.

I was thinking the same thing earlier, as I was driving home. I got my FJ in June of 2007 with 35 miles on it. I’m approaching 109,000 now. It’s getting ready for some new front brakes, they are squeaking.

I wish I still had an FJ.

MY GX is cool, but not a manual, and not as fun to drive.

ahh yes... mid year2007 is when I got mine.. Seven miles on the odo as I drove it off the lot. I was like a rockstar, the FJ was brand new and no one had seen them in Houston Texas. Sixteen years later and just shy of 200K the truck continues to bring a smile to my face each time I drive it. Mine is an automatic, never had the chance to drive a manual version...

good time to revisit the Wikipedia page

I was just looking at pictures yesterday and thought, "I wonder where R2 is now?"

We’ve had three between us.

2007 6MT, 2008 and the current 2014 6MT.

Pretty awesome that we met and are together due to this group.

We just added a new adventure vehicle.

We bought a 2023 Airstream Basecamp REI SE. should take us well into the next decade of travel…still have the Turtleback for more remote travel.

I've fallen pretty far from the FJ tree I'm afraid. I just bought an old man Chevy Silverado 1500 to pull my 25' Travel trailer.
But, fear not, I still have my GX470 (With a lot of Precious' parts under it) and my M100/Rooftop tent trailer.

I just pulled my really old Sedona Fest shirt out of my tshirt locker. Those were the days!

And then there was OFF camber in 2014

Ho do you like your Airstream? I've been eyeing the Basecamp x for a while, maybe as an option for the day I decide to give up my Turtleback. Not ready yet but maybe one day. Does it sleep two or three?

We love it. Can’t wait for our summer trip to Yellowstone…

The bed fully made up is 76 x 76. The bed is not totally square due to the shape of the rear of the trailer. We sleep fine, I need to sleep more down the middle though (6’ 2”). I’ve heard of people sleeping three, must be shorter people though…

Nice! There are so few options of quality built trailers. All my friends who purchased RV's now avoid dirt roads when able. I assume the Basecamp is a torsion axle?

Yes, torsion axle with 3” lift of the “X” models.

My .02, the limiting factor on where you can take this trailer is due to its size (9’ 3”), not capability. Speed, tire pressure and knowledge could get you into very remote locations. I’d hate to get it all pinstriped up though…that’s where the Turtleback shines.

Had some damn good times with most of you hooligans. No longer an FJ owner but still in the Toyota family as I have a 2015 Tundra to haul the race moto and pull the travel trailer.

Hope all are well and surviving in this shit show we live in. Oh and yes I'm still angry Mad Shocked Laughing
