might have glanced over that Toyota link provided.. but I agree this part is probably not one to use 3rd party parts on.

*RESOLVED* and it is no prank.

big thanks to Thoreau for the technical practical knowledge that pointed me in the correct direction. I used my eBay part yesterday for the repair done in my driveway. Overall it took about 30 minutes of work. A short drive around the block showed no more airbag light. If the problem returns I will follow-up.
