Telegraph Canyon is part of the trail system northeast of Florence, AZ area. It is the most northeastern trail of the Box Canyon trail system.
The start of the trail is just south of Superior, AZ and leads south heading into Telegraph Canyon.
The trail is now rated as a 3 due to the recent fires of 2020 and many monsoon storms of 2021 leaving many exposed boulders throughout the wash along Telegraph Canyon.
At the beginning of the trail you will pass an old rock quarry while climbing up onto steep and rocky terrain and then leading down the same steep descent towards the canyon.
This trail will require skid plates, rock sliders, and some good all terrain tires with tough sidewalls as your tires will be put to the test with all the rocky terrain you will encounter throughout the entire trail.
It is recommended that this trail be taken with more than one vehicle as it is a very remote trail and is not driven much. You will most likely not see another vehicle on trail until you are 2 or 3 miles from the end of the trail.
The end of the trail is at the old Ajax Mine which is an excellent spot to stop and have a break and take time to explore the mine area and enjoy a snack.
From Ajax Mine there are many connecting trails from the very challenging upper Ajax trail and Highway to Hell or just the connector trail to Mineral Mountain road where you can head north to the 60 highway or follow the gas line trail headed west to connect back to highway 79 to Florence, AZ.
This trail is typically a 4 hour ride with a few stops in between to enjoy the natural beauty of the Sonoran desert.
The Box Canyon area is littered with trails that you could spend an entire weekend exploring, so be sure to map out your areas and use a good GPS to plot your course and make the most of your visit to the area.

This is an Awesome trail and Danny was a very good leader on it. Took just a few shots, but lots of video that I'll be processing soon.

Airdown

The Trail Snack Stop

Lots of washed out parts, especially the one that Danny said "Scared Him". Rightly so, it was about 4' deep.

Gotta process a lot of good obstacle video. I think you'll like that.

This was such a great run. Just enough obstacles, washouts, pinstripes and ledges. Beautiful views and great folks! Thank you Danny. I have so many photos, I would load them up but this site always kicks back errors (probably the operator)!! Jim looking forward to the drone footage
