so what date is the access closed?

The only date is see mentioned is on a link at the forestry service:
www.fs.usda.gov/projec...ject=28967

"On May 28, 2021, the Tonto National Forest published the Notice of Availability of the Travel Management on the Tonto National Forest Revised Final Impact Statement in the Federal Register. The Record of Decision may not be signed until 30 days after this notice in compliance with 40 CFR 1506.10 (a)(2)."

So June 28th it could be signed and then access closed?

It’s sad but it’s just the beginning (or continuation) of more closures. There are just too many people (read irresponsible people) that are overwhelming the lands. With all the new RV-ers along with the large “overlanding” crowd...I’m surprised there aren’t more closures.
I’m in Flagstaff today and it feels like I’m living in an Apocalypse! Sad. Smoke everywhere. Fires burning out of control apparently, though I haven’t seen them. And this morning when I left Tucson, it was hotter than hades and I think there was smoke there too. (?). I left at 0400 so it was dark but very hot for 0400. I am worried about Arizona’s summer.
