Phoenix Rack and Axle
114 N 32nd St
Phoenix, AZ 85034
+1-602-252-8255

no real website.. so here have a YELP page
www.yelp.com/biz/phoen...le-phoenix

Recently had to take my driveshaft to these folks after my front u-joint decided to fail and take a chunk of the output side mounting assembly (no clue what the thing is called).

Anyways I called the local dealership and found out the only driveshaft parts Toyota sells is the u-joints and the entire driveshaft assembly. So they recommended I give Phoenix Rack & Axle a call as that is where they send all their axle related repairs.

I took the driveshaft and new u-joints to them at 3:30 and it was ready for 11am the next day. Great people to deal with and they DEFINITELY know their stuff. They also do steering rack repairs / sales as well as anything driveline related that is NOT the transmission. This shop also has a full service side of the house with VERY reasonable rates.

Anyways the shop is very offroad community friendly and just all around good folks and I would recommend.

I have a rebuilt steering rack from them in my FJ. My inner tie rods were shot and there was water in the power steering fluid. Rusted the whole rack out. Everything has been fine since the replacement.

just a heads up.. if you need CV axle shafts they will refurb yours for about 50 a side AND then give you a lifetime warranty!

down side: either you leave the truck with them (additional labor for take off / back on) OR wait a day for the refurb process.

but it could beat spending $80 a side at the local parts seller

Should be kept in consideration that the ones from Phoenix Rack are likely rebuilt OEM's not imported parts from china. They built me a killer pair of custom CV's (Long Travel boots to they don't tear as well as 3.5" over stock chromoly shafts).

They are now up to $130 each to rebuild OEM. Be careful, work quality is hit or miss now. They put on boots that were too large because it was quicker. The clamps and boots fell off as soon as I tried to install.
Brought them back and now it looks like they just stretched on boots that are way too small. sure, that will work for a little while until it flexes a bit and tears or rips right off.

Some people there really know their stuff, but that's not who will be building them. I had hopes for better quality than the cheap o'reilly ones (that are "good 'nuff" but ended up wasting a good amount of $$ trying to go local.
