BLM and AZ Dept of Forestry are going to implement STAGE II fire restrictions starting tomorrow, May 12th, 2020. That's it folks, no campfires, charcoal, or shooting on any public lands in AZ. Until the rains start anyway.

Stage 2 will result in even more restrictions than listed below:

"Fire Restrictions:
The following acts are prohibited until further notice:


    >Building maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal, or wood stove including fires in developed campgrounds or improved sites.
    >Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building.
    >Discharging a firearm, including target shooting, except while engaged in a lawful hunt pursuant to state, federal or tribal laws and regulations
    >The following mechanical and industrial activities are prohibited.
    >>Welding or metal grinding activities
    >>operating acetylene or other torches with open flame.
    >>Using an explosive and/or explosive device.

2020 FIRE PREVENTION ORDER # AZ-400-20-2, Signed May 7, 2020.

Exploding targets, fireworks, and paper/sky lanterns are always prohibited year-round on BLM-managed public lands in Arizona."
