I was just at the dealer getting an oil change done and noticed the temperature gauge said 82 deg F; it's actually 104 outside. The tech said it was because it was inside the shop which was air conditioned and it would eventually go back to normal.

I have never seen or heard of this issue before, anybody else?

Manufacturers install the outside temperature in different places, so some vary based on where they are stored, some on engine temperature and compensate for things like wind/moisture/engine temp/etc.

I've seen it happen in mine too. seemed to be a fluke though as it was right back to normal the next day.

Anyone know if the temp sensor is installed, even in you don't have the gauge pod on the dash?

Anyone have an extra gauge pod laying around?

Get it real cold (32) and it wont go back up after it warms for hours!
You look later and its fine again.
