I suppose that with this first "mod", I should start a build thread.

With that, I will bring back this picture to show continuity.

Kinda thinkin bout those tires again, too. Also Pitbull Rockers are in consideration.

It was an accident. I had this theory that if I over inflated the tires, they would get bigger. So, I hooked all 4 tire inflator valves to full scuba tanks with no regulators, all at the same time.

The tires puffed up from 31" to 35", but due to an unanticipated internal leak, the entire vehicle puffed up at the same time, rounding out the corners and even the glass. Embarassed

My friends also have the same older cruiser. Let me know of any take off parts. For the most part they are keeping it OEM and parts are hard to find up near Page.

Duh. I shoulda put this in Member Buildups.

Mike, if you're following this, would you be so kind?

I got home late today, but decided I needed to do *something* for the cruiser.

I drove it down to Autozone and bought it new wiper blades. I also picked up 8 quarts of 20W50 and a filter, but I didn't have time to start dumping old oil. I kinda wanna do it in daylight anyhow so I can see what sort of chunks fall out.

Also, I drove it to Lowe's and got some blades for my scraper. There are 2 layers of window tint in pretty bad shape. The surface layer peels off the underlayer in big sheets. The underlayer doesn't come off the glass very easily.

On the way to Lowe's, I experienced a short loss of power and I thought I was going to be on the side of the road with hazard lights a-blinkin', but then it picked back up. I pulled into a chevron and watched the gauges for a bit while idling. I know the temperature gauge is crap, because it doesn't budge. However, it occurred to me that a 25 year old cruiser doesn't go from deep Tempe to upper Peoria starting with half a tank of gas, drive to Boswell, the Glendale MVD, twice to Autozone, and halfway to Lowe's... with still about half a tank of gas remaining.

Could it be that the gas gauge is LYING to me??

I filled 21.8 gallons into a 23 gallon tank.

Yep... gas gauge no workie.

Got my scraper blades, got home, scraped some crap, dropped the scraper and looked under the passenger side front tire to grab it... there's a HUGE black wire, maybe 2-gauge like a battery lead, and it's just dangling in space. Whatever it WAS bolted to, it's not. The ring connector on the end is doing fine.

Obviously that's not very important... the car still runs! Right?

I'm saving that one for daylight.

I have also had good success with 409 or windex multi surface cleaner. Spray on and let set for a few seconds and scrape away, apply more as you go. It will make a gooey mess but works great.
