That looks like a steve rear bumper? Sonoran steele
If it is it will never come out like the runner, one thing that's nice about the runner is when you take off the bumper you have nothing left, on the fj there is still a bunch of crap behind it, it would be nice if the fj could get as flat as the runner. I had a sonoran bumper on my runner and with the design I lost about 3 inches departer in back.

Changed my mind - am going to hold off on the bumper for now.
I got a custom (Sonoran Steel) Rear Trac bar installed today, which should give me some additional play with my rear long travel. They have poly-joints as opposed to the standard rubber bushings, which gives it more movement.
I am definitely getting my front locker and 4.56's...... already made a deposit and am getting them installed next week. Cant Wait!

Are you running bigger tires? Will be watching for your thoughts on the gear swap. I'm starting to get used to mine.

Out of curiosity, what happens to a-trac with a front locker? I'm assuming if both front tires are spinning at the same speed, it would do nothing? Or freak out.

I am running 33's with a 3" lift. I will let you know how they feel once they break in

Won't use it nearly as much any more. If I am rock crawling or hill climbing I will most likely have both lockers on and not use atrac as it becomes moot basically

There are some instances where a-trac may be better than a locker. Especially on a off camber climb where your front or rear wants to slide when both wheels are trying to get traction. It's still a really good tool to have under certain conditions.
Tip over challenge in Moab was a great example of using a- trac and no lockers. I watched an FJ try to get up that with the locker and it slid sideways, then he had to regroup and try it without. He made it fine. Then a 4runner did it with just a- trac and walked up it the first time.

Mikey it's been a while since we last wheeled together. The rig is looking good man. Did you get a chance to test out the ARB yet?

wow, blast from the past!
yes, I played with it a little at Pyeatt Draw but didn't need it too much on that trail.
cant wait to try it out on more aggressive obstacles, climbs, etc..
hope to see you soon!

Completed a "Drive Shaft Mod"
went to Phoenix Rack and Axel and they retubed my drive shaft, rewelded, and replaced the ujoints. The end results was I picked up about an extra 1" of clearance and got about 25% more thickness in the rebuilt shaft. So I am now more prepared and heartier for the next time I get stuck.
Again, for those that wheel a little harder, this is a good preemptive and proactive mod that you can do for under $300

They do good work. They did a front drive shaft on my Colorado after I lifted it.
