HELL YES!!! I'm lovin that smooth rear door!! I've been plannin to take off the "new" Toyota logo (above the "TOYOTA") and leave the rest on ours. I love them all off on yours, it just completes your balckout theme really well. Nicely done John!!

-Brian

PS those black wheels you posted up earlier would look perfect on your truck with a semi aggressive tire tread. That'd just be tough lookin'!!

Thanks! Due to funding cuts, I'm going to go with painting the wheels, and I'm also going to use up these stock tires. (We'll see how long I can actually maintain that self control.)

HA HA HA Nice! If you paint those wheels make sure you scuff them up real good. I've noticed that they are super smooth, so paint won't stick for very long without proper prep.

Either way the black wheels will look great! You may look into the price to have them powdercoated. It should be cheaper than new wheels, will last forever, and look nice. The downfall there is that you would have to take all 4 off and dismount the tires and wait for them to get done. Usually black stuff doesn't take the powder coater too long to get done, but if it's your only vehicle it would be an inconvenience.

Yeah, you nailed it. This is my only vehicle and would be too much of an inconvenience. With how good my black trim pieces came out I feel like I can paint anything now. Haha!

I pulled the trigger. I ordered 5 285/75R16 Guard Dog M/Ts with Kedge Grip from Treadwright on Monday and they arrived today, less than 72 hours later. I don't have a 16" wheel picked out to go with them yet, but I'll be headed to 4 Wheel Parts to test fit the Pro Comp Series 87 16x8 3.75" backspace wheels in the next couple of days (hopefully). I had originally ordered the FJ Cruiser wheels off of Wheeler's Off-Road (which are the same wheel, but with 4" backspace) but they were backordered.

Also planned for this weekend is painting the grill white and installing the rear shock skids I got from Expeditioneers, which I have painted red.

I really hope I can get the tires and wheels mounted before Wheeling 101 on Sunday!
