|
Hello all,
I thought I'd post this up since there seems to be quite a helpful community here. A friend of mine was in a tragic mountian biking accident Easter weekend that has left her paralyzed from the chest down. A bunch of friends and her employer are having a a rummage sale with all proceeds going to the family this Saturday morning. More information can be found at the links below:
www.indiegogo.com/projects/92123
www.pivonkachiro.com
I was planning on attending the WildBill car wash the following day, but if people are trecking to Chandler from the north & east sides then maybe it's fortuitous that they are now the same day, and I'm still planning on attending that as well (FJ hasn't been washed in months).
The rummage sale will be held at Pivonka Family Chiropractic, which is in Gilbert on Higley Rd just south of the 202. Should have some good stuff to go through or if you'd like to donate something to sell that would also be great.
I'll be working the event so I'd you'd like to come by and introduce yourself that would be awesome as well, since it'll be a few weeks until I can make a Friday night run.
Thanks and hope to see some of you there!
Nick

Prayers are with her. I will be making a contribution on the site. Wish I had the time to bring stuff to the rummage sale. I have a garage that has been yelling yard sale for along time.

Thank you very much, prayers and everything else are certainly needed!
If there is some stuff that you know you'd like to get rid of I would be happy to come by and pick it up from your place for the sale. This is an offer for anyone actually, as long as it's on the east side of town.

Thank you for the lead! Of course we're all hoping that a full recovery is possible, but not the most likely outcome. I'm sure ABIL will be a great resource for my friend.

I reread my post 3 times wonedering where you saw that... and then I read the title. I tried to be careful in my wording in the posting... it's always some mundane detail!!!
Thank you for catching the oversight.

Shameless bump and another plug for the rummage sale/raffle/silent auction on Saturday. We have the use of a u-haul to pick up big items on the east side of town if anyone wants me to come pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Sent me a PM with details/address and leave it on the curb for me if you won't be around.
All items that don't sell will be dropped of at goodwill after the sale ends. Items that are suitable to be sent to our troops will be diverted to WildBill at his car wash.
Thanks for everyone's prayers and donations, it is greatly appreciated and the family is overwhelmed by all the support.
Nick

Just wanted to send out a thank you to all who donated items, money or came by the rummage sale on Saturday. We were hoping to raise $5,000 but ended up with $11,000! It was a huge success!!!
I was able to visit Brittany at Barrow's on Sunday and she and her family are completely overcome by all the support they have been receiving, a hug from her is worth 10x times the amount of effort I've put in for helping raise funds for her (and we put in a LOT of effort this weekend!).
I was updated from her husband that yesterday she was able to have her picture taken with her brace off, and she is starting to have *some* sensations in her mid and lower abdomen! Since her spinal cord wasn't severed it leaves the door open for hope (if even the tiniest bit).
If you weren't able to come by but would still like to contribute please make a donation on the websites in the first post or you can stop by the Pivonka Chiropractic Clinic and purchase a silicone bracelet with "Brittany" debossed for $5 (or 5 for $20) with all monies going to the family.
Thanks again for letting me post for Brittany and her family.
Angain thank you so very much for your support and prayer!
Nick
