Well, this would make it set number 3 for me. The first two sets where done under warranty but since Pumbaa rolled over 100K a month or so ago... no more warranty...

That be the reason for me reading all the threads and going though all the info to figure this all out, pain in the butt!

Try Carquest locations. That's where I get my Gates products from.

I'm needing this, Are all of them the same Mike? (Deaz pointed out that mine where whining yesterday, although I was oblivious to it up until that point).

needed another FJ parked next to mine to reflect the sound.

Dan has all the info at the top of this thread... there are two identical upper idlers, a lower idler and the tensioner. You need to either figure out which one is bad on your rig, replace them all, or just bet that it's the most common ones (the uppers).

Thanks again for this writeup, I just consulted it to finally replace my screaming #2's. The only thing that took me off guard was how difficult the tensioner was to swing over, had to use a giant pry bar. Otherwise, very easy install. Truck sounds great now. Very Happy

Until you hit mud again Laughing that is unless you replaced them with the ones from Napa.

The Gates ones appeared to be sealed on both sides, hopefully that's the end of it.
