Wow no shit... I wonder what the deal is there, I doubt it's actually ripping bolts apart with the motor. The frame problem was likely one of vibration / fatigue. Maybe so with the bolts now? Who knows.

Mike...it looks like the frame has been reinforced to the gills as Toyota claimed. Your frame might have been a key player in that change.

To keep the engine safe in a front end collision, they replaced the mount bolts with grade #2 bolts with shear slits cut into them. This allows the engine to go under the frame in a collision and absorb major forces so your melon doesn't have to.

Still gets a 5 star crash rating and the frame stays in one piece.

Gotta' love the Japanese engineers !!!

No kidding... they should save a little cash and just zip-tie the motor to the frame.

Just got my FJC back from camelback for some warranty and non warranty service. I dealt with Eric Murphy and had a very good experience. When I mentioned AZFJ, he gave discounts on labor and parts.

Haha. I think AZFJ has earned a reputation at Camelback Toyota. They don't even blink when I roll up with me AZ pin striping. Chris Mill is the guy I usually deal with. If nothing else, he keeps me updated and always has it pulled up front / ready to go for me.

Last week I got a call from Camelback asking how my recent visit to the service depart was. I replied "I have not been there in over a year." The nice lady said "well we show you where hear in July." Then I explained "I have been out of the country and the FJ was parked in the same spot the entire time." She sounded very puzzled. I guess when I go in to get the seatbelt recall fixed ill have to figure out why I was there in July and in Canada at the same time.

Other then that mix up I have nothing but great things to say about Camelback.

Didn't know this dealership has a thread. Gone to them multiple times and received great service.

I always take mine to Avondale Toyota. They do great work, and even better service.

Dropped mine off at CBT this morning for much needed service. Digging the speedy shuttle service that brought me home. Very Happy

Recently switch to CBT from Avondale. Had a string of poor service at Avondale and smart ass service writers. Couldn't have been happier with Eric Murphy and Dave Merentes. This will definitely be our place for service.
Thanks!
