This is privately owned now and has been for a while. It is closed to the public.

Last permission I knew about was a couple years ago for a clean up. That was at the same time their rep and I were trying to work things out with the owner. Nothing ever transpired at the time. I have no knowledge of anything with VJC since then.

They actually just did a run recently:

I reached out to the trail leader to get more info, but not much luck.

do you have contact info or thoughts or ideas on how to do this since we know its a "closed" trail and need owner permission and such?
The trail isn't closed, just crosses private property. The owners do not wish to be contacted, it was a lengthy process for me to receive permission which is why I only do the run once a year. We just did the clean-up so there really wouldn't be much use in doing it again so soon anyway.

Mikey, I have personally spoken to Aribelin (Allen) in the past about this. I will reach out to him and see if he will better inform me about all this.
BTW....I have been thinking about planning a run out there that would take us really close to the ovens.

The route is already plotted. It is just a matter of when and me getting my rotund ass in gear to plan it.

FYI - The access roads to the Coke Ovens have been closed. There are no gates just barbed wire fencing across the roads coming in from the north at where the property lines cross the trails.
It looks like a new "old" owner is back in control of the property.
You can follow this thread at www.virtualjeepclub.co...r-11-15-14
The trail is still open up to the private property then it's time for a u-turn and back the way you came.
This is the west side of the property as you come down from the north.
