Aaa Broadway auto parts has a 2010 tacoma they are parting.
Also try searching for tacoma or 4 runner engines as well they are the same but more popular in searches.

Like 3 years ago before i had my snorkel but after removing the inner fenders i took some water damage. Been over 30k but yeah, burns a quart of oil every couple weeks and fouls the cylinder 6 plug every few months, noticeable valve chatter. Its a 2010 with 91k but im finally due for emissions and the check engine light has been keeping me company for a few years now lol

i hit up Yota Pros and they can do a swap with an engine with 70 something K. they referred me to a shop in Chandler who want me to bring it in. Its a daily and i dont have time to fuck around and also not an unlimited budget to be wasting time on a tear down to tell me what i already know. would rather just go fro a swap or rebuild and save the "diagnostic" money

I had mine replaced recently with a used 77k motor out of a Tacoma by a friend who works at a Toyota shop but it was in his off time. I think total cost was $6k for labor and engine. It has been working fine. If I recall correctly you can't rebuild these motors as they use piston sleeves. You would think you could replace the sleeves but the cost outway the cost of buying a used motor. Since you are getting the engine taken out then I would recommend having them also weld bracing brackets on the engine chassis mounts. They are prone to crack and are cheap and much easier to install if you have the engine out.

I have a 2010 and believe only the 4 runners and FJ got the new motor. Im not 100% on that. Ive gotten a qoute from two shops for used engines, 70 something and 90 something k from 7-9 grand. Pretty steep for a used engine. And of course it would be great to keep the original buy yeah no shop has said they are able to rebuild.
