|
I just picked up a foxwing awning. I know they work with the Rino Rack system. I don't have the capability to use that since I have a homemade flat rack (essentially a baja flat rack).
Does anyone know of a bolt on mount that will hold the awning to the rack? I'm looking for something low cost.
If not, I'll probably just have someone weld tabs on my truck.
Thank you guys for any insight.

Have someone make you a set of large "L" brackets...

I have some 3/16"X1 1/2 flat stock that I bent to an L for something else that I didn't use. If they will work for the awning, your welcome to them.
I think they are about 10" on the long side and 7" on the short side. I can cut them to whatever length you need.

I used ballast clamps on my Baja rack. They can be had in many sizes.
I mounted flat stock to them and then to the awning.
The tubing on the BR is 1" for reference.

Nimrag: I may take those from you. We will see. I'm going to contact GMG fab and see if he can weld me up some tabs or make me something like Jimbo. Only if I had proper tooling....
If not, CeeFish's solution looks enticing.

The pieces I have can be cut like jimbolio's. Or some 2x2 angle iron can be used. I have the stuff to cut and drill the holes, you'll just have to pick up the hardware.

I may take you up on that. I like the idea of being able to remove the mounts. Maybe I'll swing by next weekend. Your in PHX?

Hey Jim, where can I find those U bolts? Home depot can be hit or miss with specific sized U bolts sometimes.

I always have better luck with Ace Hardware when it comes to bolts/nuts/ whatnot...
