Thank God this happened! They would have blamed Trump if it didn't!

Crazy good advice in Flaming Gorge UT

Jimbolio, his wife Lisa, and I had a successful trip to Yellowstone and clear skies for the eclipse. On the way up we visited Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods and scouted areas outside of the park to set up for the eclipse. Found a nice location next to the Wind River and headed there at 0430 on eclipse day. I should have paid more attention to the eclipse than my camera and will have to plan better for the 2024 eclipse in Texas. Many more photos on my FB page.

None of this would have been possible without support from my good friends CeeFish and AZFJTOY.

Thanks guys.

I shouldn't speak for Dave, but I'm pretty sure we both regretted spending our 2:21 of totality fumbling with lens covers, focus and shutter speeds to stop and notice the surroundings and what was happening. It was WAY too quick.

For everyone else who wanted to go who didn't make it, I'm sorry. For me, I'll remember that day next to the Wind River, more than my jobs I've had, more than the cars I've had, more than girlfriends I've had. More memorable than college, tv shows, places I've lived, places I've been. It will be forever seared into my mind the sights, the temperatures, the feelings of dread at the loss of the sun, and the spectacle of looking up and seeing this:

And YES, with the naked Eye it had a blue tinge.

Already planning for 2024.
