Damn, I can't make this trip but please follow up with the road condition. I'm planning on camping in Devils Chasm soon and would like to know if it's passable in a stock SUV or back to being a bit sketchy (at least up to that point.

Have fun Smile

have fun guys (and gals) & be safe!
supposed to get some weather this weekend.

this is one of my favorite areas...
i was there last month during a rain storm. intense.
there is a lot of washed out switch-backs now,
and we rolled about 8 boulders off the trail!

i have a feeling there are going to be a few small unpassable spots
on this really long trail eventually. what a shame.

everything was passable last month. Wink

Ah Crap man. I would love to go. I know the area fairly well. I do not know where the hidden cabin is but I think Duner does. Shush it's a secret. I do know some kick butt hikes and where several ruins are as well. Most, if not all, are considered difficult. For example, the last 60 yards of Devils is absolutely brutal and it is easy to miss in a few spots. Blame the scree. Pueblo is longer but a tad easier and sports a waterfall. As for wheelin' the road is not so difficult. So the faint of heart can handle it no problem as well as some passenger cars. Not that I would recommend a passenger car but I have seen a few do it.

My son has a futball tourney this weekend. However, the rain might do Sunday's matches in. If so, I am in but it will be a last minute call. Also, if so, I am always down to jump seat or add one. Btw, my wife hates the first 20 or so miles and my daughter has been known to vomit. But that is only because she has been known to read while on it.

Run it in a passenger car ??? Shocked

Maybe the first dozen miles in a Subaru WRX. Cool

In an FJ, run it fast until getting to Cherry Creek, earn extra points if you can get airborne over roller coaster section early on (well, two spots anyway). Wink

My wife makes me slow down. Rolling Eyes

There is a ruin that has estimated 300 rooms with intact pots out there. Its a big secret where its at, a coworker of mine has been to it.
