I use Facebook and still love this forum. There is a lot of history here.

I do not for one second think it is dead. If you want to see more activity - then post and start a discussion. If you want to see more runs - than lead one. Simple enough. Smile

How about a retort,
I'm very glad that everyone is 'feeling' good about the forum. But few runs get posted, few discussions get started, the most activity is in the classifieds it seems.

I'll give you an example
azfj.org/index.php?nam...ic&t=12376

No one even is interested in this trip. Maybe because I'm going to stop a lot, take pictures a lot, might camp overnight, I don't know, but the last time, it was standing room only on this run.

Hence my concern.

Maybe it's time to update AZFJ's website? I mean, 10 years (since the inception of the FJ, I don't know how long this has been around for) is a long time. Facebook was in its infancy, MySpace (do we remember that???) was huge. In Internet years, 10 years is nearly 30.

I don't know how to go about this, but maybe an update would bring people back. It could remedy the ease of posting pictures and video which seems to be a common peoblem.
Possible issues... losing all the post history. That's kinda huge.

Just a thought.

,
The reason I'm not IN on this run is because the last time I went it was not a fun day. Super rough, super fast , and a very long day. The documenting it will make it longer than last time.
There is less activity I believe because the folks that used to be very active just aren't anymore.
I also believe that when I joined this site we were all learning about the FJ together, and sharing the things we learned. Now all of those things are readily available with a quick search.
There used to be alot more meet and greets and runs that were put together so we could all get together and catch up and hang out talking about our rides.
I too wish it was more like it used to be, but it is the natural progression of a somewhat fleeting passion for some , and for others, other interests just get in the way.

Hi Conejo, I hung out with you and (blue10) a few years ago. Jim and I were screwing around with the 1st/2nd generation GoPro's. I still have the 08 FJ. Nice run on the Florence trails along with the meetup with the others. Please say hello to Jim G. Never saw him again to thank him.

Actually, it was something I saw coming. Groups split off, no new FJs being produced. No new members. In my case, life took over for a while. I traded in my FJ for something I needed more at the time, A pickup.

Now that my life has changed again, I do miss the FJ. However, I really like this Tundra for camping. I do miss seeing some of you on a regular basis.

I sure hope it's not dead. I check it regularly. I don't do FB. Try to keep a low digital profile. Do wish it was convenient to post. Would kick in $ to upgrade.

Hey Home dad. How do you know that a Jaguar is hurt?

Glider, my buddy is Jeff. You have a green light on the 2008 FJ. This will be a tough job because of a prior poor install. I also have a large star chip on my 2008 Lexus LS 460 exactly on eye level. Thank you.
