Have a friend who just had her transmission flushed at 100,000 miles (about 10k miles ago for her). Now she's hearing a whine that increases as she drives. The whine seems to be related to the RPM level or at least only making the noise when in motion.

She took it to a stealership and they said there are no codes and they don't hear anything.

Thoughts? Advice? Shops with actual diagnostic abilities?

TIA!

First things first, check the fluid level! (maybe someone already has). Remember you usually need to have the trans up to temp and engine running to get an accurate measurement.

I don't have much more helpful info other than to say that when it comes to the dealers, the service adviser you get is just as important to as what dealer you went to. I have no hesitation trusting Randy Scott over at Autonation Tempe, but he's the only one there that I have that trust with (to be fair, they have some new people that may be good too, but I've been burned before).
You're still stuck with the dealership at that point so take that as you may.
