weird questions for y'all.
Does anyone have a Yaesu 7800?
I was hoping I could use your head unit for 5 minutes to test my radio.
I am pretty sure my head unit is fried. I checked all my fuses, connectors, wires, etc...
My base unit is working and has power, I can hear the fan running.
But my head unit will not turn on. So I just want to test/swap a head unit to see if that is all it is, or if there is something else going on.
Let me know if ya got one I can use/test real quick.

Nope, need to try the 7800 face plate/head unit and plug it in to the cable. But thanks though

Have ya tried a new cable? They're usually just glorified phone or cat5 cables and bouncing around off road can break pairs. (Pretty easy to cobble up new ones too with a basic crimper and some plug ends.)

Yup, narrowed it down. Got to be the head unit.
I did some reading and it looks like the 7800 can over draw and fry itseld, so I am suspecting it's toast ;(
