Yup, except they moved and the new address is.
1649 S. 59th Phoenix
I'd call them first to confirm. His wife is the office.
Office. 623/690-3954
Cell. 623-332-8450

Real nice couple. I don't think they charge enough.
They have done my FJ and my wife's new LC in Feb.
Highly recommended them. Not fancy but he will do what ever it takes.

I finally got the cb working.

I got the tall version, and it puts the bulb just above the cab.

I've been studying for the technician's license, and called the ham radio outlet in Phoenix to ask some questions.

They told me that they send all their install customers to Big rig radio at the big flying J at the 10 and 67th ave.

www.bigrigradio.net/

I paid them a visit. They had me fixed up in no time, and didn't charge much at all-

I plan to go back when I'm ready for a mobile shortwave radio.

The horror..
The horror...

You can tune in Radio Free Europe and catch the football match.

Glad you are on the air though. Keep studying for HAM radio.
High Frequency (HF) Meters
Very High Frequency (VHF) Meters
Ultra High Frequency (UHF)Centimeters

Short waves are in the
VVFHF (Very Very Freaking high frequency) band. (Microwaves come to mind). Truly, they are short length frequency (mm) indeed.

I'm trying to figure out if I need a dual battery (my battery just died) and also exactly what equipment I'll need for a mobile station.

I'm thinking go cheap, and see if I actually use it, and like it before I spend too much dinero.

A cheap handheld HAM with a mag mount external antenna will get you started for under $100. use that, see what you like, then install what you want. (if you want).

second battery isn't even in the equation as of yet.

Something tells me I may be considered an asshat, if I buy a BaoFeng UV-5R, and start chatting everyone up, no really knowing squat about ham radio...

You'll be one of the smarter asshats then. Why buy something and do an install if you don't know anything about it or don't even know how to use any features that may or may not be useful? Or if you even want to use it at all?
BF-F8+ is my recommendation. Worst case is you decide you like it and want more power, then install something "real" and have this small cheap handheld when you leave the vehicle.

That Currie crate axle looks sweet-

I started dreaming, and doing the math when I saw that $2,485 price tag.

Upwards of 5 grand shipped to the house, for my selected options though...

Back to reality, hoping the rear end that's in ours lasts a long time-
