thanks for posting. Read chapter 3 on Motorized Recreation. After the main text I wrote and updated, there is a lot of survey results.
Pay attention to the Priority Recommendations on page 32 and the actions that follow.

Compare this to the 2010 Trails Plan Priority Recommendations on page 61 and the actions that follow.

After reading the new version and recommended actions, let me know if you think we are on the right track or out in left field.

" Users require a number of different kinds of signage to safely and enjoyably pursue their trail experience.
There is a lack of adequate signage on motorized routes and areas."

Who dreams this crap up?
NO offroad vehicle driver has EVER asked for more signs.
And we most certainly do not REQUIRE them.
Signage are the biggest eyesore out there now.

As an experienced back road traveler, I don't need more signs. I imagine you fit into this category. Unfortunately, the vast majority of public using trails complain about getting confused, lost, or if a trail is legal. That's where this "crap" as you do eloquently put it comes from.

I get an avalanche of calls this time of year from out of state visitors asking for maps and complaining about a lack of signs, especially with all of the changes to routes via travel management. The need is real for some people.

Confirmed Jeff Prince is no longer with AZ state parks.
(Talked with a Game and fish guy tonight). The program is still alive, but no more Jeff. Sad
