I drove out there alone Friday night. (nuts I know)
Found a power line rd, pulled off it about 50', set up my tent North of the FJ, and crawled in bed about 12:00am. (Nuts I know) I didn't sleep well, because of the wind, it sounded like trucks driving on the gasline rd all night. But when I poked my head out to look, nothing there. It was a creepy place to camp.
BUT - No issues.

Spock and Ozzy would have alerted if someone was out there.

When I woke up at sunrise, there was a barbed wire fence 15' behind me.(That I didn't see at night) and some kind of HoHokam ditch on the other side of the road (Opposite where I camped). Also unseen in the dark.

On the whole, I got lucky. next time I'll tote my Shotgun. Wink

This road was next to one of the CLOSED TO MOTORIZED TRAVEL signs. So there is a lot of FRESH activity on that road. (Probably 2 miles from where I camped) This is looking south from the Gasline road.

My friends used to shoot full auto out there quite a bit but it is now blocked off to vehicles. We go just north of the mobile airport now.

Seemed like they were tolerating vehicles pretty much along the Gasline (Which is the Northern boundary of the Sonoran NM). There was a very good backstop there.
