Thanks for the update. Think its in good enough shape for a high clearance 2wd? Or is 4wd still necessary?

Depends on which way you go. The Bull springs part of it can be 4 wheel drive, or "Careful" 2 wheel drive. Some good hill climbs up to the top of the pass if you come from Amado up. From Patagonia down, should be doable in 2wd. as long as a 4x4 with a strap is along for rescue just in case.

Forget Squaw valley though, that's 4x4 all the way

No, no makup, was paying attention too. The second photo actually shows how the crack stepped to the right a bit and I didn't quite far enough to keep straddling it.

Ran this trail and camped. Really fun trail! Not hard at all, but just pure fun to drive. We went from west to east. Here's a pic from the ruins:
