I remember what the "resort" looked like when open. The store was stocked, gas station open, and they rented the few cabin's that were there.
It didn't last long, then the natives reclaimed the area.
I don't know how often the lake is patrolled, but reservation access or fishing permits are required.
Beyond the lake, the trail trail splits and either runs back into Tonto Forest(left turn) to some mines overlooking the Salt River, or continues a short distance to the remains of a campground at Seneca Falls, which is usually dry, but has a nice canyon overlook.
