Welcome to the official unofficial web page for the AZFJ's, a random collection of people
who have agreed, by tacit consent, not to abide by any principles of governance. We
are not a "club", a "group" or an "organization".
Bound together by an entirely arbitrary bond, our unusual capacity for cooperation and
collective benevolence is a random stroke of luck. That we function at all is a feat.
Without label, and in defiance of categorization, the thing itself remains, barely able to
retain it's own name. It is to be beheld without being described. It is what it is.

2010 Four Peaks Cleanup!!
Posted by tibaal89 on Thursday, December 03, 2009 (05:03:31) (60 reads)
Help us keep the desert beautiful and open for everyone to enjoy!!!
3rd Annual Four Peaks Pickup - February 6th, 2010.
The Four Peaks Pickup started in 2008 after a couple of OHV enthusiast's on a day trip saw the mass amounts of trash and debris left at this off highway area just north east of Phoenix, AZ. They decided to spread the word via the internet to all of their fellow outdoor enthusiasts. In the first year 250 volunteers came out to fill thousands of trash bags and meet like minded people all the while collecting 7 tons of trash. In the second year over 500 volunteers arrived nearly overwhelming the dumpsters and a trash truck had to be called to carry away the last of the 21 tons of trash.
This year we hope to have another great year of meeting new friends, seeing old ones, and making the desert look pristine again. Each year sponsors donate thousands of dollars worth of items for the give-away held at the end of the day to say thanks to people who gave their Saturday for this event.
This years cleanup is being head on February 6th, 2010. For more information and directions check out:
Vote BellyDoc into the 2010 King of the Hammers!!
Posted by tibaal89 on Sunday, January 03, 2010 (06:01:32) (27 reads)
AZFJ's own BellyDoc is a finalist in a contest to be a driver in the 2010 King of the Hammers race in California. But he needs our votes to win! Few people are as generous of time, talent, and effort than BellyDoc - it's the least we can do to take a moment to vote for him to take part in this prodigious opportunity.
Here's what to do:
-- Click here to register on the Pirate4x4.com board if you aren't already a member.
Enjoy some 2009 King of the Hammers action... and imagine an AZFJ'er participating in this year's event!
Also, there is a great way for those of you who want to help but cannot make it out to the cleanup to still contribute to the cause. Please go to http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=865to donate any amount that will go towards buying supplies for the event!
Plan on meeting out at the event around 9am if you can. Participate in the clean up, eat some bbq, win some stuff in the raffle, then hopefully if time allows a run over 4 Peaks and take our muddy dirty trucks to the Pavilions car show in Scottsdale!
For more information or to sign up for the clean-up go to this thread.

As one of the busiest recreation spots on the Tonto National Forest, the Lower Salt River Recreation Area hosts thousands of visitors every summer weekend. Unfortunately, many of these visitors leave their trash behind, creating an unsightly and dangerous mess.
To help restore this stretch of water back to its natural beauty in celebration of National Public Lands Day, the Mesa Ranger District, Tonto National Forest, will host the 29th Annual Salt River Clean-up on Saturday, September 13, 2008, 8 am – 2 pm..
Join AZFJ in a day of service as our non-members head out to help with the clean-up. Trash bags, parking and lunch will be provided by the Forest Service. After the clean-up the fun begins with a trail run and camp-out.
